    Guest Artists Bring World-Class Lessons to King

    King Performing Arts recently welcomed two distinguished guest artists in September for special classes leading into this year’s fall season. Middle school students met with musician and educator Hubert Chen during music class, while upper school students enjoyed a special lesson with “Hamilton” actor and dancer David Guzman.

    Cece Bellmare ’33 Recognized for Artistic Excellence

    Congratulations to Cece Bellmare ’33, who received a certificate for her artwork from “Global Voices: ArtLink by Creative Connections.” The achievement recognizes the outstanding representation of her culture through artwork. This program also allowed Cece the opportunity to share her work globally with students in Ireland and India through interactive video conferences.

    Community and Connection Shine at PA Welcome Back Breakfast

    King parents came together to celebrate the start of the 2025–26 school year at the Parents’ Association Welcome Back Breakfast on Friday, September 12. The event, held at Serafresca at the IC, featured speeches from PA and school leadership, highlighting the association’s vital role in the school's life and the importance of the parent-school partnership. Parents spanning all grades enjoyed mixing and mingling while learning more about opportunities to support King through admissions, athletics, arts, fundraising, and community service, setting a positive and collaborative tone for the year ahead

    Jonovan Bracey '26 Combines History and Art Through Independent Study

    Jonovan Bracey’s ’26 new installation, “Reflections on the Vietnam War,” on display in the Upper School, invites viewers to explore the conflict through the eyes of a soldier and a protesting veteran. Developed during an independent study last spring, the mixed-media work uses a central mirror to draw the audience into the scene, encouraging reflection on the complex legacy of one of America’s most divisive wars.

    Of more than 1.3 million submissions, Leon Wang ’26 was named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist this month, placing him among the top 1 percent of high school seniors nationwide. Leon joins a distinguished group of students selected for their exceptional academic achievement.

    Middle School Players Sing Their Way Through Hilarious Whodunit

    In a spirited and ambitious performance, middle school students brought the musical mystery “Curtains: Young@Part" to life with humor, heart, and teamwork. The production challenged the cast with its fast-paced plot, complex characters, and ensemble-driven energy, giving students a meaningful opportunity to grow as performers. With guidance from faculty and a supportive rehearsal process, students gained confidence as they took on the show’s emotional depth and theatrical challenges.
