Community
The Power of Connection
At King School, we enjoy a tight-knit community and benefit from a deep sense of belonging and connection. We are committed to our mission of delivering an unparalleled school experience to our students, guided by our virtues of Integrity, Kindness, Perseverance, and Respect. We are proud to be Vikings, and we celebrate our school spirit throughout the year.
Ringing of the Bells
King School welcomes the new school year by ringing the bells, an annual tradition for all students and faculty.
Student Council Elections in Every Division
Students participate by leading, advocating, and developing ways to enrich and support the school’s mission and initiatives.
Alumni Visit for Career Day
Every year, alumni are invited to return to King School for Career Day to share their professions and life experiences with upper school students.
Homecoming Weekend
The annual event brings together the entire Viking community to celebrate the school’s rich history, enjoy athletic competition and give back. The weekend starts with an all-school pep rally featuring performances and announcements of all fall teams, followed by athletic games and activities all over campus, and end with a 5K walk to support local organizations.
King of Spring
King of Spring is a tradition that combines different elements of King’s co-curricular activities – Athletics, King Cares, and Performing Arts – all in one weekend! Students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and family members enjoy athletic games, join our local partners to participate in meaningful service projects as a community, and listen to live music from our students and community members.
International Travel Opportunities Grades 8-12
Students learn how to be responsible global citizens with the mindset, skills, and resources they need to engage actively and ethically in the global community.
Parents' Association Global Fair
The PA Global Fair brings the world to King and celebrates diversity within the King Community. Parents, faculty, and staff share information about their country of origin and allow all community members to visit and explore. It is an afternoon filled with memories of learning about near and faraway places, delicious food, and an opportunity to bring us all together.
King Talks
Students and faculty share passions and experiences with the Upper School. Recent talks: animal rescue, South African education, indigenous culture and more.
