King School has a robust Athlete Health Services program.
What is athletic training?
Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.

King's Policy for Concussion Management
Return to Play Post-Injury or Illness |
---|
If a King School student-athlete goes to a physician to get evaluated for an injury or illness which may affect their ability to participate in their sport, they must present a note of release from their treating physician to the Athletic Trainer before they can return to play. This is true whether the student-athlete is referred by the Athletic Trainer or self-referred. The student-athlete may not return to practice or play until a note from their treating physician has been presented to the Athletic Trainer. If the student-athlete is injured in one season, they will need their physician’s clearance note to begin the next season’s sports participation. A verbal or written notification from the student-athlete’s parent or guardian will not suffice. The student-athlete should not expect to return to play on the day of competition or game after an injury. The Athletic Trainer will determine the amount of practice-time needed before the student-athlete may participate in competition and game when returning from an injury or illness. The Athletic Trainer will make the final decision of when a student-athlete may return to play. |
Strength and Conditioning Program |
The King Strength and Conditioning Department comprises educated and experienced coaches that provide physiologically appropriate training catered to our student-athletes specific athletic goals and needs. Some of the services we provide are as follows:
Our coaches ensure that all student-athletes understand our athletic development process. We encourage them to be active learners in the weight room by educating them on the basics of a well-designed program that will allow them to progress safely and successfully throughout their athletic careers. |
Supplement Policy |
King School and its Athletic Department disallows the use of nutritional supplements that are not approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration, the Surgeon General of the United States, or the American Medical Association for use by children or adolescents for the purpose of increasing physical development, strength, or athletic performance. In addition, any agent (such as anabolic steroids) or substance banned by the NCAA or the U.S. Olympic Committee is prohibited unless prescribed by their physician.
