Application Requirements and TIMELINE


At King, we view the application process as building a portfolio for each student. Every element, from the interview to the teacher recommendations to the report cards, is woven together to help the admission committee understand how our applicants may best enrich our community.

Please read the important information for all applicants as well as the grade-specific requirements before beginning the application.

Important Information for All Applicants

As a best practice, we recommend completing your student profile and submitting it to King along with the application fee. Any components and forms completed after this initial submission will be delivered to the King.

Key Dates

  • September 1: Admission application opens
  • October 1: Financial access application process begins
  • December 15: Admission and financial access applications due
  • Admission applications completed after December 15 will be considered on a rolling basis and are not guaranteed to have an admission decision by February 13.
  • February 13: Admission and financial access decision notifications
  • March 10: Enrollment contract due

 

Deadlines

  • Financial Aid applications are closed for the 2025-2026 school year as the submission deadline has passed. Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available in October 2025. Please get in touch with our office if you have any questions.
  • We recommend that families schedule interviews and testing as early as possible. During rolling admission, testing is determined on a case-by-case basis. Don't hesitate to get in touch with our office to learn more.

Teacher Recommendation Forms

We ask all applicants to request Teacher Recommendation forms. If you are unable to secure recommendation forms from your current teachers, you should request the Personal or Any Teacher Recommendation to be completed by a past teacher, tutor, coach, or program director. Please call the Admission Office to discuss who should complete each form.

PreKindergarten students must be 3 years old by September 1  of their entry year.

  • Student Profile - As a best practice, we recommend that you first complete your student profile and submit it to King along with the application fee. Any components and forms completed after this initial submission will be delivered to the King.

  • To make the application process easier and more efficient for your family, King School uses SSAT’s Standard Application Online (SAO)Many of our peer schools also use the SAO. We hope that you will find this helpful and that it will free up your time to be thoughtful about finding your best fit school. 
  • Start your application by following the instructions to complete the Student Profile and submit your application fee. The code for King School is 4395. Applications started after December 16, 2024 will be considered on a rolling basis. Please contact the Admission Office for information.
  • Financial Aid applications are closed for the 2025-2026 school year as the deadline for submission has passed.  Applications for the 2026-2027 school year will be available in October 2025. Please contact our office if you have any questions.
