We offer Coffee and Conversation events, as well as various open house events throughout the admissions season.

You may also choose to fill out an admissions inquiry online to receive an admissions viewbook, newsletters and event invitations.

Where is King School located?

King is located in Stamford, CT, right off of Meritt Parkway.

King attracts students from 40 towns in the Fairfield County, Connecticut and Westchester County, New York areas.

What are your entry points?

Admission Entry Points:

Our primary entry points are PreK, Kindergarten, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 9, and Grade 10. However, spaces in other grades may also be available. We invite families to apply for admission to PreK - Grade 11 and encourage you to call the admission office for information specific to your requested grade level.

Can I still apply to King after the application deadline?

Absolutely!

Applications submitted after date will be considered on a rolling basis. We do recommend applying before the deadline to be considered for the upcoming school year.

How much is tuition?

Tuition for King School ranges from about $38K - $53K per year depending on the program chosen. Learn more about tuition

Does King offer any financial assistance?

King seeks to make independent school education affordable for families from a wide range of economic backgrounds.

Some of our families pay a small percentage of the full tuition through our Financial Access program, while others can pay the majority of tuition.

Financial assistance is assessed based off of need.

What is the college matriculation for King?

King students attend some of the top some of the top universities and colleges in the country.

This achievement represents years of dedication and hard work on the part of these students, their teachers, and their families. 

Is King a Boarding or Day School?

King is a private day school for students as young as 3 years old - Grade 12.

How can parents get involved on campus?

The King Parents’ Association (PA) is a dynamic organization that plays a vital role in our School community.

The organization depends and thrives on the active participation of parent volunteers who sponsor a variety of projects and programs that support the schools mission.

Does King School offer international programs?

King‘s academic program integrates a global education for all ages.

In addition to global education courses, students have the opportunity to participate in language and cultural programs in various countries depending on the school year including China, France, Costa Rica, Martinique, Guadalupe, Colombia, Northern Ireland, and Spain. We also offer opportunities for a semester of study abroad in our partner schools.

Does the King School have a strong athletics program?

King School Athletics offers a diverse program from physical education to competitive teams, designed as an essential component of the overall educational experience.

To achieve athletic excellence demands constant growth and teamwork, and our students are supported by coaches and teammates in an engaging and challenging atmosphere. We also take Viking Pride in our championship teams and our many college athletes!

What's the dress code like?

King School supports a reasonable, appropriate Dress Code that fosters individuality, neatness, respect, and a sense of community.

Specific depend on the age of the students for the daily standards of dress and formal standards of dress.

What kind of transportation in available for students?

We understand that transporting your child to and from King is a priority.

Therefore, King is pleased to provide the following options for families in the surrounding areas. Free bus service is offered for Stamford residents and surrounding Westchester county residents. King coordinates a paid service for Greenwich, Larchmont and Rye residents.

What are the student school supply and technology needs?

Lower School

Supplies are provided by King School.

Elementary teachers have access to MacBooks and iPads for use with students. iPads facilitate fine-motor coordination and multimedia learning demonstrations even by students who are still developing literacy. MacBooks facilitate research and learning to type. Lower School students may not bring their own devices.

Middle School

Supply list by grade will be included in the Start of School email that is distributed in mid-August.

Middle School students have access to Chromebook computers housed on carts throughout the Middle School building. Chromebook computers accustom students to cloud computing: each student’s data is hosted on his or her own Google Apps for Education account, accessible from any web-enabled device. MacBooks are also available for use with more specialized applications. Middle school students may not bring their own devices.

Upper School

Requires a Mac Laptop with Microsoft Office and TI-84 Graphing Calculator; no other required supplies.

Every high school student is expected to purchase and maintain his or her own MacBook computer. With some exceptions, the school does not provide this equipment for students. Only Macintosh computers can run specialized software required for work in several academic departments. Financial Assistance is available for MacBooks for eligible students.  Please contact Director of Admission and Financial Access Nina Newman for more information.

Social Media

  • King provides detailed guidelines for Responsible Social Media Use.

Cell Phones and Other Mobile Devices

  • Lower School: Not permitted during school hours (7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m.) without permission of a teacher.
  • Middle School: Not to be used without explicit permission from a teacher. Cell phones are collected at the start of each day during the advisory period and returned at the end of the school day.
  • Upper School: Outside of class, high school students may use their cell phones to make calls in the front office area and the Athletic office area only. A personal audio device such as an iPod or iPhone may be used during free periods or in Study Hall with headphones.

Personal Computers

  • Lower and Middle School students may not bring their own computers to school. Every Upper School student is expected to purchase and maintain his or her own MacBook computer.
