King parents came together with energy and enthusiasm to celebrate the start of the 2025–26 school year at the annual Parents’ Association Welcome Back Breakfast. Hosted on Friday, September 12, at Serafresca at the IC, the annual gathering drew an impressive turnout of both new and returning families eager to reconnect and look ahead to the year’s opportunities for community involvement.
Head of School Carol Maoz welcomed guests and reflected on the PA’s vital role in the school's life and the importance of the parent-school partnership.
“We know that when families are engaged, supported, and involved, students thrive, " she said. “The Parents' Association is at the heart of that connection. Whether through events, volunteer efforts, hospitality, or fundraising, the PA helps to bring our values to life in tangible ways that enrich every student's experience.”
Reflecting on her family's time at King, Board Chair Mi-Sun Freeman P’22, ’29 spoke of the PA's importance in the King experience and urged families to join one or more of its committees.
“Whether you are a long-time volunteer or a new family looking to get involved, the time you give to the PA makes a true difference,” she said.
Director of Development Colleen Dealy applauded the PA’s partnership with the Development Department on the many annual and bi-annual events, including Homecoming, galas, and the Annual Fund.
Hillary Rosenthal P’32, now in her second year as PA President and sixth year as a King parent, expressed gratitude for the numerous parents who have supported the PA in previous years and encouraged all to join in ways both big and small.
“We have a huge array of leadership positions and over 20 parent-led committees,” she said. “Our amazing Committee Chairs, Grade Reps, and Divisional Vice Presidents are among us in the room today, and we could not do what we do without their support, leadership, and commitment.”
The morning also served as an introduction to this year’s dedicated PA Executive Board:
- President - Hillary Rosenthal P’32
- Vice President of Events - Darunee Gambino P’27, ’29, ’32
- Vice President of Community - James Laird P’37, ’39
- Secretary - Belinda Brouder-Hayes P’32, ’32
- Treasurer - Anna Massion Greenberg P’29
“The PA’s efforts touch all aspects of King life through admissions, athletics, arts, fundraising, school spirit, social events, and community service,” Rosenthal concluded, drawing attention to the festive committee tables. “We are looking forward to an amazing year together.”
