Vikings Mathletes Math Team ( Grades 4-5)
Students who join the Vikings Mathletes will have an opportunity to showcase their math talent and think outside the box. Under the leadership of Ms. Samra, the Vikings Mathletes will practice solving challenging problems and prepare for Math Olympiad contests between the months of November and March. There will be weekly meetings to practice for the contests. The Vikings Mathletes will challenge you, excite you, and motivate you to be a stronger mathematician. Everyone has a different perspective to bring to the table, and together we will learn and conquer math concepts. Students will build confidence in math and also learn how to collaborate and be part of a team.
Please note that this is a year-long commitment. There will be a prerequisite assessment to determine student eligibility for the team, and two meetings with parents (one in September, one in January) to deliver information and updates about the team. We will also have an end of year party in May to celebrate the students. Please only sign up if your child is able to fully commit to 1 class a week for the months of October-early May.
