Vikings Surge Into the Postseason
It’s championship season, and Viking teams are rising to the moment. This week delivered dramatic comebacks on the basketball court, a dominant squash finale, and a meaningful milestone for the school’s newest program as girls ice hockey concluded its inaugural season. With league titles in reach, postseason brackets taking shape, and school pride on full display, King Athletics is heading into the final stretch of winter competition with energy, confidence, and plenty of reasons to cheer.
Basketball Tournament Time
After trailing by as many as 12 points on Thursday, Varsity Boys Basketball used an impressive second-half run to earn a thrilling one-point 69-68 semifinal win over Masters School! In a similar fashion, but leaving no doubt, the team put together a similar second-half run on Wednesday in a league quarterfinal, cruising in the final minutes to a big win over Hamden Hall. The Vikings now move on to their second straight FAA final in a rematch of last year's game, this time on the road, at Brunswick School on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
Also on Thursday, in the first game of a playoff home doubleheader, Varsity Girls Basketball rolled to a commanding win over Forman 57-29 in the first round of the HVAL tournament! Every Viking scored in the contest, led by Carolyn Joo ‘28 with 27 pts and Anna Melton ‘27 with 9 points. King moves on to the semifinals as they host #4 Williams School today at 4:30 p.m.
