Girls Basketball Sophomore Carolyn Joo Reaches Incredible Milestone!
Carolyn Joo ’28 reached a remarkable milestone in her King basketball career on Saturday, scoring her 1,000th career point in a matchup against Greenwich Country Day School. In doing so, she joins a short and distinguished list of players in program history to reach this historic mark, and becomes one of the fastest to accomplish it as a true sophomore. The moment was fittingly dramatic, as Joo knocked down a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of the first quarter to surpass 1,000 points, igniting the crowd and energizing her team. She went on to finish with 28 points in an impressive performance against a strong opponent, further solidifying her place among King’s elite scorers and underscoring what has already been an outstanding career in a King uniform.
The Vikings play their final game tomorrow against Westover School at 2:00 p.m. in the Upper School Gym and enter the HVAL playoffs next week as the top seed in the postseason. They await the results of the final league games to find out their first-round opponent on Monday.

Boys Basketball Winning Streak Extended!
The King Boys Basketball team closed out its regular season in impressive fashion, extending its winning streak to seven games with a dominant 87–63 victory over Hamden Hall on Senior Night.

Entering the contest riding the momentum of six straight wins, the Vikings delivered one of their most complete performances of the season at just the right time. Before tip-off, the program honored four seniors who have helped shape the team’s culture and success, AJ Trimboli, Jonovan Bracey, Julian (Juju) Dent, and Henry Simon. Their leadership, commitment, and impact on and off the court have been instrumental throughout the year, and the night served as a fitting celebration of their contributions while marking their final regular season game on their home floor.

During the game, the seniors led the way in victory. AJ scored a game-high 27 points, knocking down 7-of-10 from three-point range. Krys Gaston ’27 was electric from beyond the arc as well, shooting 5-for-6 from deep. Juju controlled the paint with a dominant double-double, finishing with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Ryan Trimboli ’28 added 9 points and 5 rebounds, while Jonovan contributed 6 points and 6 assists, helping orchestrate the offense and maintain the team’s tempo.

With the win, the Vikings carry a seven-game winning streak into postseason play, building momentum at exactly the right time. Finishing in second place in the FAA regular season, they will now match up with seventh-seeded Hamden Hall again, this time on Monday at 6:15 p.m. in a first-round FAA playoff game.
