Two King graduates are now back on the sidelines for the Vikings, as Jayne Tully ’17 and Claire Morris ’17 take on coaching the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team.
Congratulations to both on their first-ever career win, as their squad secured an impressive 17-8 victory over the Forman School on Wednesday in the season and home opener! Special shoutout to Maggie O'Callahan ‘25 for an outstanding performance, scoring six goals for the Vikings!
Two more graduates stepped up this week, as Joey Skarad ‘19 and Erica Cunningham ‘20 were guest presenters on our annual College Athletics Night on Wednesday.
College Athletics Night
More than 50 current and new-to-King families joined the call to learn more about the college recruitment process. Hosted by the College Counseling Office and Athletics Department, the webinar welcomed students who are interested in playing a sport in college or who were looking to find out more about the college recruiting process. Athletics Coordinator Tom Broschardt, Dean of Athletics Micah Hauben, and Assistant Director of College Counseling Emily Prince moderated an informative and interactive discussion, covering topics ranging from a comparison of NCAA DI, DII, and DIII athletics, contact rules and regulations, and athletic scholarships versus merit aid, to a day in the life of a college student-athlete. Also joining the call to provide expertise, feedback, recommendations, and additional feedback were Fordham University Women’s Volleyball Head Coach Ian Choi, Vassar College Men’s Basketball Head Coach Ryan Mee, and Davidson College Football Head Coach Saj Thakkar.
Thank you to our graduates and special guest coaches for an outstanding program and for all of their time and insight!
For anyone unable to attend the call, our College Athletics page is a great resource for more information, and where you can download our updated College Athletics Guide. The event video will also be available soon.
Thank you and Go Vikings!
