Job Title: Assistant Director of College Counseling

Division: Upper School

Reports to: Director of College Counseling

Job Description: King seeks an Assistant Director of College Counseling who will join a college counseling staff of three other team members and a full-time Registrar. Reporting to the Director of College Counseling, the Assistant Director will encompass a full and diverse range of responsibilities that will move the program forward under its four-year developmental model.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing college counseling and guidance to roughly 1/3 of each class
  • Presenting to various constituent groups including students and parents
  • Coordinating the PSAT and Practice ACT
  • Traveling to visit colleges on an annual basis
  • Attending national and regional conferences that further enhance expertise
  • Writing letters of support for each senior candidate within one’s cohort group

Requirements:

  • Masters Degree preferred and 3-5 years undergraduate college admissions experience and/or independent school college counseling experience
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative team atmosphere
  • Commitment to further one’s own professional growth and development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
