We have a parent portal on our website that helps you get easy access to everything you need including completing your enrollment forms. Please follow the steps below to get started. Step 1: Activate Your Community Login Account, Step 2: Access the Parent Portal, Step 3: Complete Enrollment Forms on New Family Checklist. Once you are logged into the parent portal you will land on the parent portal homepage. In the "Looking Ahead" section, click on the grey box titled "2019-2020 New Family Enrollment Checklist". Newsletters

During the school year, we send a weekly newsletter called Keep Up With King to all families, faculty, and staff. The newsletter highlights school activities, student and faculty accomplishments, and includes announcements and upcoming events. You will automatically receive these emails to the email address you have on file with King School.

Calendar and Calendar Feed

The King School website includes a comprehensive School Calendar, accessible from the site homepage under Community and also accessible from the King App. You can also set up a calendar feed to your personal online calendar (e.g. Google Calendar, Outlook, or iCAL). By subscribing to a particular calendar category (or athletic team), you can automatically export the King Calendar right to your personal calendar. Look for the grey RSS icon to sync your calendar.

Grade Rep Communications

The Parents’ Association (PA) grade representatives communicate with each grade to share information and updates on school events and programs. You will automatically begin receiving these emails from the PA to the email address you have on file with the school.

Urgent Communication, School Closings, and Delays

King School relies on an urgent alert system to inform families of any urgent matters including school closings and delays. As part of our urgent communication protocols, families will receive a phone call and an email and may opt to receive a text alerts. Instructions to opt in to receive text alerts will be sent early in the fall. Please note, the school makes every effort to send the alerts for school cancellations and weather delays by 6:00 a.m. A pop-up box announcing weather delays and cancellations is posted on the website.

King School App

The King School App is a quick and easy way for our community to access information on the go. The app is interactive and allows you to view the community directory and filter content for athletic games, performances, news, and events while storing your preferences for subsequent use. You can download the King School App in the Apple app store or the Google Play store by searching “King School CT”.

If this is your first time logging in to MyKing, you will need to create a password.

New families will receive an email 5-7 business days from signing your enrollment contract with instructions to activate your account.

If you forgot your password to MyKing, please follow the same steps below.

Click on the blue button below and a new window will open. Click on Forgot password or First time Logging in.
Enter the email you have on file with King School and check the boxes labeled Username and password.
You will receive an email asking you to reset your password. Password requirements: twelve characters, one number, one special character, one lower case, and one upper case.
Using your username (i.e. janesmith) and the password you just created, you will be redirected to MyKing.

How Do I Opt-in to the Urgent Alerts Notification System?

One of the ways that we notify families of a urgent alerts, school closing or delay is through text message. We send out these instructions at the beginning of each school year to all families. You must be opted-in to receive these messages.

Make sure your cell phone number is correctly entered on the Community Directory on MyKing.
- Login to MyKing, click on your name on the top right-hand corner, then click on profile.
- If you need to add your cell phone number, click on the Contact Card tab, then click on Add Phone then click Add Wireless and enter the cell phone number and save.
- To add a child's cell phone click on your child's name within your profile, then click Contact Card, and follow the step above.
  - Please note your child's cell phone number will only be visible to your family and school administrators.
Then, after 24 hours, please text the phone number 87569 with the message, "Yes" from the cell phone. Please note that you will NOT be prompted to opt in. By texting "Yes," you are opting in to our text message system. You should receive a reply that says, "You are subscribed."

If you previously opted-in for your current phone number, the message will be from 87569. That means you do not need to opt-in again, but it won't adversely affect your status if you do so.
If you would like to choose to opt-out of receiving text notification from King School, then you can reply to the text with the word "STOP."

How do I check my child’s schedule?

For Middle and Upper School Families, teacher post on a daily basis. Please use the steps below to received notifications when there are updates or feel free to login to MyKing to see the updates whenever you'd like.

Step 1: Login to MyKing using your login credentials.

Step 2: Click on our own name in the upper-right hand corner and select "Settings."

Step 3. Click on Notifications under Account Settings.

Step 4: To enable email notifications. Your email address should be visible. Click on the edit button (pencil icon) and select YES to enable notifications to this email address, then select Save.

To Enable text notifications, Under TEXT Number if your mobile number is not there, click on the add button (plus icon) and enter your mobile number and details. Select YES to enable it and then click Save.

Step 5: Click on "Edit Options" for Announcement posted and News Posted. Please select "Academics, Activity, Advisory, and Community" under both My Groups and My Child's Groups. Then, click save.

How do I access my Blackbaud Tuition Management account?

Instructions for those who already have a Blackbaud Tuition Management Account

Access to your account is available after you've enrolled in Blackbaud Tuition Management and King and has approved your account. Blackbaud Tuition Management is accessible after logging into MyKing. If you have trouble accessing your account, please contact help@kingschoolct.org

Step 1: Login to MyKing

Step 2: You will land on the "Resources" tab.

Step 3: Click on the "Blackbaud Tuition Management" title. You will automatically be logged into your account.

Instructions for New Families

King School has partnered with Blackbaud Tuition Management (Formally Smart Tuition) to service your tuition account. All King families are required to have a Smart Tuition Account regardless of the payment plan selected.

If you already have a child re-enrolled at King, the school will simply add any additional children to your existing account (you do not need to complete the enrollment process described below).

All other new families, please complete the enrollment process as soon as possible by following the instructions below:

Once you're enrolled, follow the instructions below to log-in for the first time.

Step 1: Login to MyKing.

Step 2: Clicking on the Blackbaud Tuition Management button on the resource board.

Step 3: Click on "I am a first-time user" button, to get a username and password.

Step 4: Enter your family ID, primary phone number, or email. The family ID is included in the "important information about your account for King School" email you received from Blackblaud Tuition Management.

To make future payments, login to MyKing and click on the Blackbaud Tuition Management tile.

How do I choose courses or view course recommendations as a returning MS or US King family?

Using our MyKing system students with their parents may access the personalized Course Requests page (you are emailed each year once this become available). There, our faculty have already recommended courses for next year. The faculty have made their recommendations based on performance and skill development to date in their current classes.

Middle School

Click here for step by step instructions. Parents should select the Request or "+" button to confirm these recommendations. Rising Grade 8 parents may choose from the Performing Arts elective offerings that are available. Please do this together as a family. Please contact Jeremy Bletterman if you have questions.

Upper School

Students and parents may turn recommendations into requests and may choose elective offerings that are available according to the student's grade level and prerequisite courses. Please do this together as a family.

Start with the Course Request Guide, organized by grade level, which combines general academic advising (including how many courses to request), requirements, course sequencing, technical instructions, important procedural notes, and links to summaries of all the elective courses available. For your convenience, the same guide is also embedded atop the Course Requests page in MyKing.

Summer Institute
As you plan, keep in mind our Summer Institute, where students may take courses for enrichment, to fulfill graduation requirements, or to accelerate their program of study in Visual Arts or Mathematics. (Incidentally, if you are planning to use the Summer Institute to advance in Mathematics, please contact Academic Dean Adam Boaz MyKing will not allow you to request a course for next year if you're not already enrolled this semester in the prerequisite).

Use Your Team!
Your advisor, your teachers, your Grade Dean (especially for students in Grade 8), the College Counseling Department (especially for students in Grades 9-11), and I are all available to assist with course requests. As Ms. Sadlowsky says, "Do not worry [or wonder] alone!"

How do I access files and forms completed through MyKing?

How do I access MyKing from my mobile device and create a shortcut?

iPhone:

Open Safari.
Navigate to the website you want to save to your home screen: kingschoolct.myschoolapp.com
Tap the Share button at the bottom of the page.
On the bottom row of icons, scroll over until you see Add to Home Screen and tap this.
On the next screen, choose a name for the link on your home screen. You’ll see the link so you can confirm it, as well as the site’s favicon that becomes its “app” icon.
Now just tap the new app on your home screen, and it will open the website in its own navigation window, independent of Safari.

Android:

Open Chrome.
Navigate to the website you want to save to your home screen: kingschoolct.myschoolapp.com
Tap the menu icon at the top-right and then tap “Add to home screen.” Other browsers have similar functions. In Firefox, it’s pretty much the same process except the feature is called “Add Page Shortcut.”
Now just tap the new app on your home screen, and it will open the website in its own navigation window.

How do I schedule parent teacher conferences through PickATime?

Step 1: Login to MyKing using your login credentials.

Step 2: You will land on the "Resources" tab.

Step 3: Click on the "Pick A Time" title. You will automatically be logged into your account.

You will then be taken directly to the scheduler.

Scheduling

If you have a child in more than one division, you will see a drop down menu to choose to toggle between divisions.

Step 1: Each colored square represents an available meeting time. The legend shows you which teacher corresponds to which color, and the times increase as you go down the page. (Note: you will not see all of the teachers at your school, just the set of teachers that your children have classes with.)

Step 2: Click on a square to book that time.

Step 3: Click "Create Appointment".

• At any time you can click on "printable schedule" and print the resulting web page to get a hard copy of your schedule. You will also have the option to email your schedule to yourself.

• If you want to make changes to your schedule, you can log in at any time through MyKing.

• Click on “Your Schedule” to display and hide your appointments. There will be links to change the time or cancel the appointment.

Please Note: if you would like to make an appointment with a teacher that your child does not have a class with, you will need to contact your child's homeroom teacher or advisor. For technical issues, please contact databaseadmin@kingschoolct.org.

Magnus Health

How do I update my health records through Magnus Health?

King School has partnered with Magnus Health to store, collect and manage all of your child’s health in one secure online location. Magnus Health allows King to ultimately provide more efficient and consistent health care services. Magnus Health is available after logging into MyKing.

How do I access Magnus Health via the Magnus app?

You only need to complete the Covid-19 attestations Monday-Friday.

How to download and set up the Personal Health Record (PHR) mobile app

Go to the school website
Click on MyKing
Click on the Magnus Health button
Click on Name within Magnus (top left of screen)
Required: Click on Change Credentials
Create a Username and Password that only you know and will remember. The password must be 10 characters long. This username/password combination will be used as your PHR mobile app login only.
Download the "Magnus Mobile V2" App from the Apple Store or the Google Play store, and log in using your newly created username and password.

Troubleshooting the app

Please follow these steps to check if the app version is 20.08.26. If you do not have this version you have to delete it and reinstall it again.

If you have an android: Go to device settings, tap apps or application manager, you will get a list of apps, them tap on the magnus app to see the app info page.

If you have an iPhone: Go to Settings>General>iPhone Storage. Wait a moment until all the apps installed populate. Then tap on Magnus Mobile V2 to see the version number.

How do I filter Calendars?

If you are viewing a calendar that combines events from various categories (Ex. School Calendar) you can use the "Calendar Tools" to remove calendar categories that do not apply to you. This personalizes the view of the calendar, so when you return to the page the calendar will only display the categories you have selected.

Next, navigate to the calendar you would like to filter.

Scroll down the page to "Calendar Tools" and uncheck unnecessary calendar types. Then click "Update Calendar".

How do I sign up for Calendar alerts?

If you would like to subscribe to a calendar(s) to receive alerts or reminders about upcoming events, click the orange "Alerts" button in the upper right hand corner of the calendar you are interested in.

This will open up a pop-up box where you can select which calendar you would like to subscribe to. Be sure to adjust the reminder settings, circled below, to indicate when you would like to receive the alert (Ex: 30 Minutes Prior, 1 Day Prior, etc.)

When you are finished, click "Update Settings"

How do I add calendar(s) (ex. Athletic Team or Lower School Events) to my calendar?

You can export a category of the school calendar (Ex. Girls Varsity Soccer or Lower School Calendar) to your personal calendar (Ex. Outlook, Gmail, Apple Devices) by following the instructions below.

OBTAIN THE iCAL FEED

First, navigate to the athletic team page or school calendar for the schedule you would like to export. Then, click on the grey "RSS" button in the upper right hand corner. If you want to add a category calendar to the default calendar on your phone, complete these steps from you phone and click "Add to Default Calendar app."

Next, a pop-up will appear that lists all the teams/calendar options. Select the team/calendar you would like to export, then hover over the green "iCal" button.
This will expose several options for how to export the calendar
- For Gmail, select "Get Google iCal URL"
- For Outlook or iCal (Apple Devices) select "Get Standard iCal URL"

The pop up box will now generate a URL. Copy it and proceed to the next step for either Gmail, Outlook, iCal below.

GMAIL

Navigate to your gmail calendar. Click on the Plus symbol next to "My Calendars" then select "From URL".
Paste the ICAL URL into the field box and then select "Add Calendar." Now your personal calendar will be synced with the calendar you selected.

OUTLOOK

If you would like to sync a King calendar with Microsoft Outlook, the process depends on which version of Outlook you are running. Please refer to the instructions for linking your Outlook calendar using an iCal feed.

iCAL (APPLE LAPTOP OR DESKTOP)

Open the iCal application on your Apple device. Click on "File" then "New Calendar Subscription"
Paste the URL into the field box and select "Subscribe"

iCAL (IPHONE OR IPAD)

On your iPhone or iPad, click on "Settings"

What is included in the King School App for iPhone and Android?

The app includes:

You’ll be able to:

Find, call or email parents, students, faculty, and staff contact information directly from your device in the community directory
Review athletic event details, including opponents, game results, plus more.
Browse calendars for information about upcoming events. Filter calendars to see the events most relevant to your interests and save your filter preferences for subsequent use.

The information presented in the app is drawn from the same source as the King School website. Privacy controls restrict access to the community directory only to users who are logged in within the app.

How do I download the King School App?

How do I search for community members by role, grade, town or name through the community directory?

Step 1: Please make sure you are logged in using your MyKing credentials on the homepage of the app. This part of the app is only accessible by logging in for privacy reasons.

Step 2: Click on the “Directory” link on the bottom of the app. To search, first you must choose a role (Faculty & Staff, Parent, Student, Board Member, Coach). Then, you can either browse by scrolling on your screen or use the search feature to find a name, town, or class year (i.e. 2020, 2032).
