The Annual Fund is a financial lifeblood of King School. It sustains programs and activities not covered by tuition. Simply, annual giving is the best way for parents, alumni, parents of alumni, grandparents and friends to help make a meaningful difference in the quality and quantity of programs and resources available at King. Your investment on an annual basis is a critical partnership to advancing the Mission of the School.
The Annual Fund contributes approximately 9% of all operating revenues available to the School. Annual Fund gifts are generally tax deductible, given King’s status as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Thank you to Michael Johnson P' 13, '17, '19 and Amy Silberfein P'14, '16 for their leadership as 2017-18 Trustee Annual Fund co-chairs.
Parents participate in the Annual Fund at high levels every year. In the 2016-2017 academic year we achieved 97% parent participation! We urge all parents to make King a top philanthropic priority.
We have over 30 parent volunteers on the 2017-18 Annual Fund leadership committee working with us as ambassadors for the Annual Fund. Please make a pledge or gift early so the School can more thoughtfully allocate your gift. Annual Fund donations must be allocated in the same academic year as the gifts are made, so please make a gift or pledge as early as possible.
While the Annual Fund does not construct new buildings, it makes what goes on inside those buildings possible.
The aspects that Alumni treasured as students - extraordinary Faculty; a wide-ranging curriculum; an outstanding Arts Program; numerous co-curricular activities and sports; and countless other opportunities - would be difficult to achieve without the Annual Fund support from Alumni.
In the 2016-2017 academic year we achieved 11% Alumni participation!
Our 2017-2018 Alumni Association President is Fiona Muir Fine '90. Visit our Alumni page.
Gift societies are a method or approach to securing a number of gifts at all levels. If our Annual Fund is to be successful, it must reflect the balance between leadership gifts and broad participation. Gift societies provide an opportunity for all donors to be recognized and acknowledged at the level of their generosity to King School. We expect different gifts from different people, and gifts from everyone.

The Head of School’s Society is a formal organization of lead benefactors to the Annual Fund. Membership in the Society is open to all individuals, companies, and foundations who have made a minimum Annual Fund gift of $5,000 during the academic year to one of our seven leadership categories. Each year, members of The Head of School’s Society will be invited to a private reception in recognition of their leadership generosity.
Many employers provide a corporate match for their employees' charitable gifts. Direct your matching gift to our School, and you are recognized at King for the full amount of your own gift plus the employer match. In many cases, this is a wonderful opportunity to reach a higher gift society level.
In the 2016-2017 academic year, matching gifts and pledges accounted for nearly $130,000 of the King Annual Fund!
To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check the participating employers page.

Launching each July 1 and ending on June 30, the Annual Fund is designed to support students and Faculty in each academic year. Donors are encouraged to make a gift or pledge early and can fulfill their pledge anytime before June 30 each year.
