Performing Arts Faculty Amy Darnton and Grade 8 student Gouri Krishnan discuss the power of theatre as the Middle School rehearses C.S. Lewis' classic 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' which opens at the PAC next week. The benefits of stepping into character, collaborating with peers across the Middle School and performing on stage in front of an audience has a broad impact on life outside of the theater.
The Visual Arts department is excited to announce Michael De Feo as King's Visiting Artist for October 2018. Mr. De Feo will address the entire Upper School at an assembly on Monday, October 1. By then, students in all three divisions will have taken self-portrait photos which we will print in various sizes. Students, under the direction of Mr. De Feo, will paint flowers and leaves on top of their portraits with acrylic paint. These works will be exhibited in the PAC.
Congratulations Nick Fellows and Riley Jones as "Rhonda and Dave" in Almost, Maine who won a Halo Awards this year for Best Performance by a Couple or Dynamic Duo in a Play. The PAC theater and courtyard came alive on Friday, May 11, for the first King Music Festival, which welcomed over 14 bands from area schools, including five from King, and culminated with the headline act, The Funky Dawgz Brass Band.
