Advanced Art students become children's book illustrators during KingIsHome remote learning

With one full week of KingIsHome Remote Learning behind us, Advanced Art 2 students have found themselves in a new line of work: they are now children's book illustrators. Ran Lapolla, Chair of Visual Arts, assigned the task, which requires students to use Photoshop and follow specific steps outlined in a google doc. Students continue to engage deeply with the experience of education and make unexpected discoveries, from home.

King students accepted to perform in the Western Regional Music Festival

Congratulations to five King students who auditioned on November 16 and were accepted to perform in the Western Regional Music Festival. The Festival takes place January 17-18, 2020 at Darien High School. The festival is the brainchild of the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA). The CMEA's mission is to "provide programs and activities for professional educators, students and future music educators striving to enhance the quality of music education for all children" and the CMEA launched its first All-Connecticut Festival in 1936.
