GiveKingTuesday is about coming together as one community in support of the King Fund, which supports every facet of life at King and enhances the experience of every student, every day. We are enormously grateful to the 526 DONORS who made a commitment to the King Fund – and a commitment to our community - for the sixth annual GiveKingTuesday!

Gifts of Appreciated Securities

A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year is frequently the most economical way to give. You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and will avoid tax on the capital gain.

Early Bird Challenge

FINAL RESULTS: 112 donors

The early bird gets the match! When the clock strikes 12 a.m. on GiveKing Tuesday until 10 a.m. help us unlock an incredible $120,000 trustee match!

Trustees Peter Resnick P'22, '22, '25, chair of the development committee, Kyle Clark P'22, '27, co-chair of the King Fund Leadership Committee, and Rachelle Spielvogel P'25 have combined efforts to offer a tremendous Early Bird Challenge. These trustees will match $1,000 per donor for the first 120 donors on GKT, expiring at 10 a.m. on November 30. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to maximize your gift!

Debbie Dietz '90 Alumni Challenge

FINAL RESULT: 109 alumni donors

Debbie Dietz '90 was our first GKT match our inaugural year - way back in 2016! She's back again to help all alumni celebrate GKT. Debbie has agreed to match $100 per donor for the first 100 alumni donors. Give TODAY and your gift will be counted towards our GKT goals. We're calling on all alumni to help us unlock Debbie's $10,000 gift!

New Parent Challenge

FINAL RESULT: $84,700 raised

Calling all new parents who joined our King family this year! This challenge from The Goergen Foundation is just for you! The Goergen Foundation will donate 50 cents on the dollar up to a $20,000 match! If the new parents can band together and raise the maximum $40,000 to unlock a gift of $20,000, a bonus $5,000 gift will be added for a $25,000 match. Make your first GKT one to remember with this generous challenge.

Senior Parent Challenge

FINAL RESULT: $112,922 raised

Class of 2022 parents: let's make senior year even more memorable with a special Grade 12 parent challenge. To celebrate the momentous year, senior parents Kim and Richard Alexander P'21, '22; Debra and Daniel Alpert P'22; and Tracy and Sean Flynn P'21, '22, '25, '27 are supporting GKT with a generous $40,000 dollar for dollar challenge.

Grandparent Challenge

FINAL RESULT: 14 donors

Grandparents play a special role in the development of young people, and we are grateful for their loving involvement with our students. An anonymous King grandparent is showing spirited participation and generosity this GKT with a $10,000 challenge just for grandparents. Each gift from a grandparent will unlock $500 towards the $10,000 match. Thank you for your commitment to your grandchild's school!

What is #GiveKingTuesday?

#GiveKingTuesday is our community’s celebration of the national day of giving known as #GivingTuesday. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving after the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season. #GivingTuesday harnesses the potential of social media and the generosity of people around the world to bring about real change in their communities; it provides a platform for them to encourage the donation of time, resources, and talents to address local challenges. As a global movement, #GivingTuesday unites countries around the world by sharing our capacity to care for and empower one another. Let's come together as a community for #GiveKingTuesday!

What do GiveKingTuesday funds support?

The King Fund

The King Fund sets the standard for both the experience and outcomes of education. This year, the King fund supports:

Competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain great teachers.
Opportunities for faculty participation at workshops and conferences.
The educational experience for all students.
King Performing Arts productions.
Financial access which fosters a more diverse student body and helps King students become leaders in a multicultural and global world.
Academic program enhancements, technology upgrades, and facility improvements.
Athletic trainers, coaches, equipment, and King student athletes.
A comprehensive college counseling program including college nights for Grades 9-12, application and essay workshops, and an admissions panel featuring top colleges and universities.
