Giving Societies

We are grateful to all who choose to support our mission by making King School a philanthropic priority. Your investment makes a difference and has a direct impact on students, faculty, programs, and the overall ability of King School to set better standards for both the experience and outcomes of education. The recognition groups below honor those who partner with King at leadership levels to advance the school's mission. Through them, we celebrate the generosity of trustees, parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, and friends whose gifts each year support school operations and whose lifelong commitments help secure King's future.

1865 Society

King's premier giving society recognizes benefactors who have made cumulative lifetime gifts of $250,000 or more. Consistent leadership-level giving serves as the lifeblood of our community, and we welcome committed, forward-thinking partners to engage with school leadership to consider how education can better serve our community. Members of the 1865 Society are invited to shape both King’s vision for the future of education, and the strategy for realizing that potential.

The Head of School Society

We are grateful for the generosity of forward-looking donors like you, who make it possible for students to take risks, explore new strengths, and push far beyond what’s required to “make the grade.” By joining the Head of School Society, you signal your unwavering support of our students and the wider King community. Members of the Head of School Society are invited to a private reception hosted annually by the Board of Trustees and the Head of School. Members will also be recognized for their leadership in each Annual Report.

King School today draws on and is inspired by the ideals of all of our predecessor schools: Low-Heywood, Thomas School, King School, Low-Heywood Thomas, and most recently KLHT. We value how a deep connection with our alumni family enriches our entire community. Leadership Alumni gifts to The King Fund make it possible to attract and retain the extraordinary faculty members who create expansive opportunities and set better standards for education. Champion Society

We welcome and deeply appreciate leadership giving to financial access. When you make this specific type of designated gift, which requires a multi-year commitment of more than $10,000 per year, you become a member of King’s Champion Society. Leadership-level support of financial access ensures that King can retain the inspiring and talented students who access the school through tuition assistance. Our entire community flourishes when diverse voices are heard and valued. Financial access works in support of our commitment to inclusion.

Circle of the Bells

King is deeply grateful to our Circle of the Bells members, as their carefully considered future giving is crucial to bolstering our endowment and thereby ensuring our long-term financial stability. There are a variety of ways to support King School that benefit you, your loved ones, and the School all at the same time. Also known as legacy giving or deferred giving, consideration of a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for King School and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. Common planned giving vehicles include designating King as a beneficiary of a trust, life insurance policy, or your estate -- either through a residuary percentage or a fixed amount.  If you’ve already included King in your estate plans or if you’d like to learn more about the many planned gift options, please contact giving@kingschoolct.org. We would love to include your name in our recognition of those who provide far-sighted support of King for future generations to enjoy.
