Summer Institute

Educational Summer Sessions in Stamford, CT

Register your child for Summer Institute (SI) at King School’s 34-acre campus in northern Stamford. Join students in grades K-12 from 40 different Connecticut and New York schools.

We offer dozens of sessions throughout the summer, including upper and middle school academic courses, sports clinics, and Fun Camp, a recreational program consisting of daily activities and field trips.

The small class size of our summer sessions provides your child with the opportunity not only to learn new skills but also to meet students from various towns throughout Connecticut and New York and learn from King’s teachers and coaches.

Summer Institute consists of four types of programs:

  • Academic Courses: Courses are available for students entering Grades 6-12. Students can earn academic credit for many courses, and some courses help students build their skills.
  • Fun Camp: Fun camp inspires curiosity in students Kindergarten-Grade 6 through STEAM activities, field trips, and sports. Join us for all six weeks or a combination of weeks.
  • Camp Little Vikings: King PreK students are invited to participate in a half-day program full of discovery, creativity, and endless fun! Our summer camp is the perfect place for PreK children to explore, create, and play in a warm, child-centered environment.
  • Sports Clinics: Small group practices with expert coaches allow students to learn and perfect skills. Various sports offerings are available throughout the summer months.

Additional details on all programs can be found below.

Ron Harvey
"I took a Summer Institute class and it helped me get a head start on my course requirements and it also freed up a study hall for me, which really helped with homework and time management. I would advise every incoming Freshman to take Summer Institute courses because it prepares you for additional academic classes ."
Milei Wyatt
"I absolutely recommend taking Summer Institute classes. Not only are they taught by amazing teachers who are experts in their field, but it allows for you to have a lot more flexibility in your schedule. I also think it is really nice to have familiar faces when school starts, especially if you are new."
Abby Mancuso
"I took two different classes over two consecutive summers; Introduction to Global Studies and Topics in Global Studies. Both classes helped me get a jump start on my academics because they were both requirements for King's Global Distinction. Taking those courses helped me to better select my classes during the academic year and I felt more prepared."
