Winter Showcase Sweep for the Vikings
Seniors Vs Faculty
Varisty Boys Basketball

Last week, students in all divisions celebrated Spirit Week. Dressing in a different theme each day, students showcased their personalities across campus. The week was capped off with the upper school winter semi-formal dance Friday evening, leading into an action-packed Saturday. The annual Winter Showcase drew students, families, faculty, staff, and fans to campus, where they cheered on Viking athletes in action.

Saturday’s festivities kicked off with the faculty and students facing off in a basketball game. While the senior students gave a spirited effort, they were no match this time around for the teachers and coaches. Everyone enjoyed an exciting and friendly competition, and all had a good time.

Girls Varsity Basketball

Varsity Girls Basketball was next up against Forman School. Two strong halves saw the Vikings pull away from the visitors and earn a comfortable 44-27 win. Charlotte Black ’23 led King with 21 points, and Meredith Joo ’23 finished with 13 points. The team has been hot recently and moved to 8-4 on the season with the win!

Varsity Boys Basketball tipped off next, also against Forman School. The Vikings had a season-high scoring total, with five players finishing with nine or more points! Marcus Watts ’23 and Davion Pinn ’24 each added nine, Justin Beazley ’26 ended with 10, and both Nasir Pettigrew ’24 and Jonathan Niv ’24 had 19. The win was the fourth in a row and 10th on the season against only five losses.

Hockey

In the final game of the showcase, Varsity Ice Hockey took to the ice at Stamford Twin Rinks, facing Fairchester Athletic Association opponent Kingswood Oxford. In a back-and-forth game, goals from Gavin Garrison ’25, Justin Harvey ’25, Ben Bradley ’24, and Ryan Wempen ’24 earned a 4-2 win, continuing the Vikings’ undefeated season!

The clean sweep for the Vikings capped a great day of fun, competition, and community building! Thank you to the Viking Pride parents who provided an extra touch of spirit with an AirPod raffle, to Flik services for providing food for the crowds, and to everyone who came out to root on and support our winter athletes and teams!
