Girls Volleyball Advances to the FAA Finals for the Ninth Year in a Row

FAA Girls Volleyball Championship

Friday, November 10 - 4:30 p.m.

Varsity Girls Volleyball will travel to face Sacred Heart Greenwich in the FAA Championship on Friday, November 10, at 4:30 p.m. The Vikings defeated Greenwich Academy 3-0 in the semi-finals on Wednesday, November 8, to advance to the title match. King is looking to avenge their only loss of the season against Sacred Heart, in an attempt to win their fifth FAA Championship against the same conference opponent in the last nine years. Best of luck to our Vikings on the court, as they prepare to defend their FAA crown!

King Cross Country To Race in New England Championship This Saturday

King Cross Country will participate in their final race of the season on Saturday, November 11, as five Vikings athletes compete in the New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA) Division 4 Championship at Marvelwood School in Kent, CT. The senior-laden group, led by captain Andrew Beck ’24, looks to finish out their running careers in emphatic fashion. We wish all of our Vikings runners the best of luck on the course!

Four Vikings Representing King at Soccer All-Star Games This Weekend

Familiar faces will be lacing up their cleats to play in the upcoming Western New England Soccer all star games this weekend. The Varsity Boys Soccer team seniors Will Fullerton ’24 and Darsh Kumar ’24 were selected among an elite group of players to participate in the upcoming boys' match. Likewise, juniors Taylor Ansel ‘25 and Lila Leibowits ‘25 from the Varsity Girls Soccer team will have the opportunity to play in their respective all star game,and represent the Vikings on the big stage. Congratulations to all four of our Viking soccer players on magnificent seasons; and good luck in the upcoming all star games! A job well done for a tremendous feat. 

New England Tournament Seedings Will Be Released on Sunday

New England tournaments for Girls Volleyball, Field Hockey, and Boys Soccer will begin next week. The King teams will await word from the seeding committees on Sunday morning to find out if they have earned the chance to continue on in the postseason. We will all be looking for good news on Sunday, November 12! First round games for each of the sports tournaments will be scheduled for Wednesday, November 15. Two Vikings Make It Official With NCAA National Letter of Intent Signings

Two Viking athletes signed their NCAA Division I National Letter of Intent (NLI) on Wednesday, November 8! Senior Sylvia Freidenrich ’24 made it official, committing to rowing at University of Wisconsin next year! Sylvia soaked in the celebratory signing, surrounded by friends and family in the Upper School Gym. 

Johnathan Decker ’23, who is currently in a postgraduate year at Hotchkiss School, made his college commitment official, as he signed his NLI to play baseball at Lafayette College. We would like to congratulate these two Vikings on their tremendous achievements and look forward to following all of the successes in their next journey at the collegiate level!
