Varsity Boys Tennis also brought home a victory, as they defeated Hamden Hall 6-1!Congratulations and Go Vikings!!!

After a rainy King of Spring last Saturday, the festivities continued on Wednesday, April 30, as the Varsity Boys Lacrosse and Varsity Girls Lacrosse hosted a doubleheader on the Segalas Family South Turf. With the King Cone ice cream truck there for both games, along with face painting, music, raffles, and free swag gear for all courtesy of Viking Pride, it was a great showcase of our spring athletes and the whole community! More than 300 people visited the truck and enjoyed the two impressive wins for the Vikings!

Varsity Boys Lacrosse celebrated Senior Day in style with a 13-5 win over St. Luke’s! Congratulations to the eight seniors and their families on all they have done for and brought to the program over the years:

  • Tate Anderson
  • Brandon Chan
  • Charlie Iverson
  • Dean Liner
  • Jakari Morgan
  • Dillon Solomon
  • Jack Solomon
  • Ryan Sullivan (Manager)

In the second game of the doubleheader, Varsity Girls Lacrosse followed suit, building a big early lead and rolling to a 12-8 league win over Williams!

While Varsity Girls Lacrosse moved to 9-0 after their win on Wednesday, the momentum was built after a thrilling 8-7 win over Wooster School on Monday, in what very well may have been the most intense game of the season! The team played the entire second half a player down—but never backed down. They showed toughness, discipline, and resilience in a game that tested them at every level.
The leadership from upperclassmen continues to drive the standard:

  • Senior Captain Maggie O’Callaghan ’25 stepped up with a critical goal on Monday.
  • Junior Jordyn Ennis ’26 has been a relentless force on attack.
  • What has also made this team so strong is its depth:
  • Kate Moskowitz ’29 is already one of the team’s top scorers.
  • Annie Hill ’28 has owned the crease, making clutch saves in goal when it counts.
  • Greta Malloy ’28 and Caroline Joo ’28 bring consistent grit and speed to the midfield.

After the win, alumnus Charlie Hill ’24 shared a message. A former Viking and Boys Lacrosse High School All-American, he watched his sister Annie in goal for King and had the following to say:

"What this team is doing takes heart. I know how much pride King athletes take in wearing that jersey, and watching my sister and her team push through the way they did reminds me why it matters. Stay together and keep going."

This team is built to fight, and the season isn’t over yet and the team faces one of their toughest tests of the season as they host Hamden Hall today at 5:00 p.m. on the Segelas Family South Turf!

Hill also took time to talk about his first season at Wesleyan and how memorable it has been.

“My first season with the Wesleyan Men’s Lacrosse team has been nothing short of incredible. The jump from high school to college is real. You’re no longer surrounded by peers your age—you’re in a locker room with grown men who bring intensity, discipline, and maturity to everything they do. From day one, it was clear: if you want to belong, you have to rise to the standard.

Playing in the NESCAC—the toughest conference in Division III lacrosse—only adds to the challenge. But it also makes every moment more meaningful. We finished the regular season 10–4, going 7–3 in conference play. Along the way, we had close battles with top-ranked teams, including a 16–12 loss to #2 Salisbury and a hard-fought overtime loss to #1 Tufts. Those games weren’t setbacks—they were wake-up calls.

Since then, we’ve shifted gears. We just earned a dominant 15–6 win over Bates in the NESCAC quarterfinals. Now we’ve got our sights set on Bowdoin this Saturday in the semifinals—a team we’re ready to battle. Win that, and we’ll meet either Tufts or Middlebury in the championship on Sunday.

It’s been a season of growth—both personally and as a team. I’m proud to be part of a group that holds each other accountable, plays with purpose, and shows up when it counts. And this ride isn’t over. The NCAA playoffs are just around the corner, and we’re ready.”

We wish him and the whole Wesleyan team good luck!
