Volleyball
Varsity Volleyball celebrated a tenth straight win this fall by sweeping St. Luke’s 3-0 in the annual Pink Out game on Wednesday, October 16. Both the Vikings and the Storm came together to support the Bennett Cancer Center in Stamford. At the game the Health and Wellness Club had an activity table for attendees to decorate kindness rocks for patients, and all proceeds from concession sales were donated to the Bennett Cancer Center.
Football
The Vikings secured a big win on the road with a 35-20 victory against Newark Academy. Quarterback Freddy Melton ’26 showcased his versatility, connecting with four different receivers — Jakari Morgan ’25, Jack Levine ’26, Connor Brown ’25, and Jackson Andrews ’26 — for passing touchdowns. Running back Liam McGuire ’25 added a rushing touchdown for good measure.
The Vikings' defense, led by Alex Zaken ’25, Brandon Ricketts ’26, and Jack Levine ’26, kept Newark Academy at bay, preventing any significant comeback attempts. With this win, the Vikings head into their regular season finale against Horace Mann on Saturday with momentum on their side, a chance to host a playoff game for the first time since 2017!
King Crew
King Crew athletes have recently been busy racing in regattas each weekend. On Sunday, October 6, they competed in the Head of the Riverfront Regatta in Hartford, followed by a trip to Shelton this past Sunday, October 13, to compete in the Head of the Housatonic Regatta. Next up are two of the biggest races of the fall, the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta this weekend in Boston and the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia on October 26 and 27. Good luck to the Vikings as they hit the water with hundreds of other clubs and thousands of other rowers from around the world!
