You don’t need your passport to experience a farm in Málaga, life in Costa Rica, or the wildlife of Ecuador. A walk down the lower school hallway will do just that.
A new display is giving students a chance to share their learning beyond the classroom, featuring hands-on Spanish projects from Kindergarten and Grades 2 and 3.
“These projects explore the big question: ‘What can we discover about the world when we learn a new language and explore through hands-on projects?’” said Spanish teacher Rosalba Santander.
Each grade level approached that question through a different lens. Kindergarten students focused on “la granja” in Málaga, Spain, creating farm-themed artwork while learning animal vocabulary.
Grade 2 students explored homes in Costa Rica, designing their own houses and examining how culture and environment influence living spaces.
Grade 3 students studied Ecuador’s biodiversity, connecting language learning with environmental awareness by creating bird feeders to support local wildlife.
Take a stroll through the hallway, explore the displays, and maybe learn a new palabra or dos along the way! Bienvenidos!
