The 2025-26 Middle School Prize Day on June 4 marked the division's final gathering of the academic year. The cherished tradition celebrated the year while recognizing excellence across academics, athletics, leadership, citizenship, and character, honoring students who have distinguished themselves through dedication, perseverance, and service to the community.

Award Winners

The annual Field Day competition challenges students through a variety of physical and team-building events. The 2026 Field Day Champions are Team Heywood.

The Founders Cup is awarded to the team that accumulates the most points throughout the year-long competition, which celebrates school spirit, teamwork, leadership, academics, athletics, and community engagement. The 2026 Founders Cup Champions are Team Heywood.

The Three-Year King Scholar distinction recognizes students who have earned the academic distinction of King Scholar for six consecutive Middle School semesters, demonstrating sustained academic achievement, consistency, and commitment. The Three-Year King Scholar recipient is Effie Nikeas ’30.

The Hermanson Award is presented to students in Grades 6 and 7 who have demonstrated the most growth as learners during the current year through personal advocacy and academic commitment. The Hermanson Award recipients are Whitney Como ’32 and Sophia Rayle ’31.

The Lillian S. Fish Award is presented to Grade 8 students who have shown the most progress during the current school year as both scholars and students. The Lillian S. Fish Award recipients are Tucker Brennan ’30 and Sam Kleinman ’30.

The Jean B. Steele Reading Prize is awarded to the Grade 8 student who has not only progressed in reading skills but has also discovered the joy and excitement of good books. The Jean B. Steele Reading Prize recipient is Claire Beckmann ’30.

The Michael Wright Award is presented to the most outstanding male athlete in Grade 8. The Michael Wright Award recipient is Jackson Nisenson ’30.

The Alexandra Scanlon Award is presented to the most outstanding female athlete in Grade 8. The Alexandra Scanlon Award recipient is Zoe Paksi ’30.

The Young Citizenship Award, given by the Exchange Club of North Stamford, is presented to students who exemplify citizenship, attitude, academics, character, service, leadership, and sportsmanship. The Young Citizenship Award recipients are Tyler Oudsema ’32, Ava Major ’32, Georgia Seidelmann ’32, Ella Stolarsky ’31, Charlie Sponheimer ’31, Luke Powell ’30, and Ricky Thielen ’30.

The Merrill Award is presented for academic achievement, thoughtful consideration of others, and a sense of responsibility to the school community. The Merrill Award recipient is Zoe Paksi ’30.

The Malcolm Wilmott Prize for Academic Excellence is named for Malcolm Wilmott, a former English and science teacher and Head of the Middle School. The prize is awarded to the student who has consistently shown extraordinary effort and dedication to their studies and who demonstrates that learning is a lifelong pursuit. The Malcolm Wilmott Prize for Academic Excellence recipient is Carolina Reinhoefer Ribeiro ’30.

The Class Prize is presented to the student in each grade who best represents King School’s values of academic achievement, co-curricular involvement, personal integrity, leadership, and loyalty to the school. The Class Prize recipients are Teddy McDonnell ’32, Madison Goichman ’31, Samantha Guevara ’30, and Sophia Guevara ’30.
