Congratulations to upper school art teacher Corina Alvarezdelugo, who was recently named the 2023 Connecticut Outstanding Art Educator of the Year by the Connecticut Art Education Association (CAEA), a professional organization which represents the art teachers of the state.
“An exemplary teacher, Corina is dedicated to cultivating artistic growth and critical thought in her students by offering a multidimensional and rich multicultural curriculum,” wrote Eileen McVicar~Schnyder, Connecticut Art Education Association President.
“Advocating for the arts, she has sponsored successful National Art Honor Society chapters celebrating student artistic achievement, leadership, character, and service to the arts,” McVicar~Schnyder continued.
In addition to her work at King School, Alvarezdelugo is an active member of the Connecticut Art Education Association, regularly participating in their annual art conference, and sharing her enthusiasm and expertise. She runs the association’s Youth Art Month celebration, organizing the statewide event and expanding her art advocacy voice.
Alvarezdelugo will be recognized at the CAEA awards ceremony at the New Britain Museum of American Art on Thursday, December 7, 2023, and at the National Art Education Association Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in April, 2024.
