Fun Camp
Kids Summer Camp: Sports, STEM, and Exploration!
Children ages 5 - 11 entering Kindergarten - Grade 6 are invited to attend King's Summer camp in Stamford, CT. Our summer camp is not only for King students; we welcome kids from schools across CT/NY. If you're looking for an exciting, fun-filled summer camp for your child this summer, check out our kids day camp! Our 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Summer Camp is designed with all grade levels in mind and is geared to each age group’s physical, emotional, and intellectual needs, adhering to small counselor/camper ratio, which creates a welcoming and friendly community atmosphere.
- Sign up for all six-weeks or a combination of weeks that works for your summer plans!
- Activities include:
- Sports and games
- Daily field trips- Excursions in the past have included: trampoline park, local museums, driving range, Maritime Center, movies, hiking, laser tag, beach, mini-golf and bowling.
- Special assemblies
- Themed workshops - cooking, science, technology, theatre

A Typical Day in the life of Fun Camp
- Campers enjoy morning activities and sports on the turf field, and the new, state of the art playground.
- Mid-morning the campers attend their STEM-themed workshop
- Each week, Lower School Teachers come on board to share their “Summer Workshops" based on specific themes like Robotics & Technology, and Computer Animation, Science
- After lunch, campers spend time exploring the community with daily field trip excursions off-campus.
- Campers end the day with activities back on campus until pick-up time at 3:00 or 4:00 p.m (available if needed).
- Pizza Fridays! Lunch will be provided on Fridays

Forensic Detectives
Discover the basics of how detectives solve human and animal crimes as we investigate different types of evidence that can be left behind. Learn how to ID fingerprints or hair samples, test pens for ink samples, or match a shoe to its print. Learn how conservationists use animal bones, scat, tracks and other artifacts to protect endangered plants and animals around the world.
Potential curricula could include:
*blood type analysis (synthetic)
*Wildlife CSI challenge
*fingerprint ID
*forensic entomology (insects)

Reaction & Attraction
We’ll explore the world of chemical reactions and forces of attraction in this hands-on week. Discover the acid-base reaction through tie-dye, explore the world of decomposition and those living creatures that help it along, and explore “sticky” forces of magnets and friction.
Potential curricula could include:
*acid-base tie-dye
*magnet lab
*reaction experiment lab
*explore “sticky” footed animals (live animal visit)

Adventures in Engineering
Engineering is everywhere in nature and science! We’ll have a chance to explore the methods behind building a variety of structures, how chemical engineers create new polymers, how forces affect building design, and what amazing engineers can be found in nature! We’ll also learn how things work by reverse engineering and taking things apart.
Potential curricula could include:
*reverse engineering lab taking apart no longer working electronics
*how slime chemistry changes by different ingredients
*engineering design for seed dispersal and flight
*newspaper building challenge

Build it, Break it, Mold it, Make it
The wonders of engineering, science and art come together for this great hands-on week. We discover the necessities for building solid structures, learn about animal digestion by breaking open “owl puke,” discover the builders and breakers of the animal world and discover how things are put together by taking them apart!
Potential curricula could include:
*reverse engineering lab
*animal builders & Breakers live animal program
*building stations challenge lab
*owl pellet dissection
*mini catapult building (we also have a portable catapult that is roughly table-sized that could come if there was a
place to launch items—we usually do fruit)
