Upper School Athletics Information

  • Students must have their updated Emergency Contact Form, valid Physical Form and other related information uploaded into the School’s Magnus Health system.
  • Current Parents and Students, visit the Health Services page to view information on Athletic Training, King's Concussion Management Plan and Return to Play Policy.
  • As announced on July 29, the FAA has called off the Fall regular season and playoff competitions. On July 30, the NEPSAC also cancelled all Fall New England postseason tournaments.
  • These decisions do not preclude schools from offering fall teams, and King will continue to operate all of our Upper School Fall Athletic programs with adjustments made to align with health and safety protocols and accommodate operational functions for each sport.
  • At this time, no interscholastic competitions of any kind have been scheduled for the Fall teams to play against other schools, We will continue to review directives and guidelines to determine if any opportunities may be possible during the Fall season.
  • Our Upper School pre-season week will begin on Monday, August 31. Fall teams will have in-person orientation sessions on campus with their coaches and Athletic Department personnel at different times throughout the day on the 31st. Training sessions will start on Tuesday, September 1, and will run through the week until Friday or Saturday for some teams. As the full pre-season week schedule is finalized, we will send out and also have the team coaches reach out directly to all team athletes and parents.
  • Regular team practices will start up on Tuesday, September 8, and will be held each day after school between the hours of 3:30-5:15 p.m. The Fall season will wrap up in early November and the Winter season will begin no earlier than Monday, November 30.
  • Our programs, run by our dedicated and passionate King coaches, will continue to offer competitive and skill-based training opportunities, in a challenging and engaging atmosphere, helping to support the physical, mental, and social-emotional health of our students.
  • Our athletic trainers and strength coaches will remain available to provide our student-athletes with full health and training services.
  • In order to adapt in new and creative ways and provide even greater opportunities for our Fall and non-Fall student-athletes, we will also be putting in place a health and training day program on Wednesday afternoons to line up with the Upper School Remote Connect Wednesdays schedule. This will include rehabilitation sessions with our athletic trainers, in person and remote customized strength and conditioning programs with our strength coaches, and out-of-season training for some of our winter and spring sports.
  • We also remain fully committed to supporting students who have aspirations to move on to compete at the collegiate level with two dedicated department members available to work with families through the process.
  • In order to help provide clarity around the significant program shifts and to better answer your questions, we will hold two parent zoom orientation calls the week of August 24 and will also hold an athlete and parent remote orientation session the morning of August 31 (more details to come).
