Jake Cohen '20 takes first place in Moffly Media Photography Competition

Congratulations to Jake Cohen '20 on his first place award in the Moffly Media's Greenwich Magazine Annual Photo Contest. The contest features the work of Greenwich residents that capture a moment in time in their town. The categories included places, people, and pets. Jake's 'Hello There' took first place in the pets category.

"Life and nature exist all around us and we become so busy that sometimes we forget the importance of it," adds Jake. "I wanted to take pictures of nature over the summer because those moments are when you can spend the time realizing that all life is connected. It feels good to be recognized, but even better to know that the people in the town will see that right outside their door are all these different personality's like the smiling frog."

The Visual Arts program at King engages students in art making based on observation and vision and they are encouraged to use critical thinking and to persist in exploring unique ways of executing their work. Congratulations to Jake on this accomplishment. The winning images were featured in the January 2019 issue of Greenwich Magazine, which hit newsstands at the end of December.
