Alesia Paz '21 and Cassandra Jean-Baptiste '21 Selected as Scholars for the College Board

Congratulations to Alesia Paz '21 (pictured below) who was selected as a Scholar for the College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program.

In considering what has helped her succeed, Alesia offers this advice, "use some type of planner to keep track of not only assignments but your plans for the day. Set short- and long-term goals for yourself."  Alesia is enthusiastic this year about "working on [her] independent study regarding the Urban Indian identity with [English Faculty] Ms. Stone."

Congratulations also to Cassandra Jean-Baptiste '21, who joined King last year, on her selection as a Scholar for the College Board National African American Recognition Program.

Looking back at her freshman self, Cassandra offers this reflection, "My freshman year was hard for me, so I would tell myself that all the work that I'm putting in is worth it, that I just have to keep pushing and it will get easier in the end." For this year at King, Cassandra says she's most "looking forward to exploring [her] interests on a deeper level."

The College Board National Recognition Programs are designed to honor students who have excelled on their PSAT/NMSQT and in their classrooms.
