Beginner Dance

This class teaches the importance of movement in a variety of ways through a variety of disciplines. As well, dancers learn to coordinate muscles to move through proper positions.

Dancers will have the opportunity to express and communicate their ideas and to be given a platform to make creative decisions. This decision making promotes self-esteem and independent thinking. Learning steps and phrases, help to expand their movement vocabulary and help give the opportunity for their voice to be heard. Given this freedom, it will encourage them to reach beyond what comes easy by using their imagination.

Beginner dance incorporates the fundamentals of Creative Movement, Ballet, & Hip Hop, enabling the dancer to express their love for movement and music in a fun and caring environment. Dancers will leave this class with the basic foundations of dance.

Because this class starts immediately after school, students will wear what they wore to school that day, including uniforms. No special dance shoes required; sneakers are best. Water will be provided.
