Winter Athletes are Honored at Awards Assembly

Our Winter Athletes were honored at the Awards Assembly in late February when Tom Decker, Director of Athletics, addressed the students gathered in the PAC. "You represented your teams and King well, and played your hearts out to the end of each contest. It is important to remember that wins are not the ultimate measure of success, as one cannot account for the differences in the levels of competition. As individual's, you exceeded your personal limits in an effort to achieve the highest possible performance for you, and for your team. In my mind, your steady growth and peaks towards the end of the season is a testimony to the measure of your successes this winter.

By sharing similar passions about the sport you play, and by spending numerous hours together during practices, games, and on bus rides, being a member of a team has enabled you to create bonds with your teammates, and create friendships and memories that you will take with you for the rest of your life. I hope that regardless if you had a winning or losing record, you all take with you the life experiences that you have gained by being student-athletes at King."

Congratulations to the award recipients and all our Winter Athletes. We are looking forward to a successful spring season!
