Interview and Student Visit Day Information

We want to ensure each family is comfortable and prepared for each step of the application process. Please review the information below regarding Student/Parent Interviews as well as the Student Visit Day:

Student Interview (Grades 6-11): The student interview has two goals. First, we want to get to know the student and the student’s goals, interests and academic potential. Second, we want to be sure that the student is aware of all that King School has to offer. Students can expect that an admission officer will ask questions about school, family and friends. There will be no trick questions! The admission officer will tell the student about our programs and answer any questions the student may have. The student interview usually lasts 20 minutes.

Parent Interview: Much like the student interview, the parent interview is an opportunity for the admission office to gain a better understanding of the student and to offer information about King School. Parents should expect to be asked about the student’s successes and areas of concern. The admission officer will highlight our programs and answer any questions the parents may have. Only one parent is required to attend the interview, which typically lasts 30 minutes.

Student Visit Day (Grades 6-11): A student visit is an opportunity for students to attend classes, meet King students and enjoy lunch in our dining hall. Visitors should feel free to wear what makes them most comfortable, usually a collared shirt and nice pants to blend in with our dress code. We encourage visitors to bring a book, in case there is a bit of down time. During classes, we encourage visitors to participate and ask questions. When the visitor is at lunch or in between classes, we encourage him or her to ask students about their experiences at King.

(Students applying to PreK - Grade 5 have varying schedules depending on the day).
