This committee works with the Director of the King Cares Service Program to support King's commitment to volunteerism, service learning, and social awareness. KCSP welcomes all parents who wish to support King's Community Service Programs in any way - there is an activity that will meet your interests and/or time constraints.
KCSP Committee Organizes the following events and programs as well as numerous divisional service activities run by Faculty Advisors/King Cares Service Coordinators/Student Clubs:
- Annual Food Drive benefitting Person-to-Person
- Middle School and Parent Midnight Runs
- Neighbors Link Thanksgiving Dinner
- Hope in Motion 5K
- Men's Homeless Shelter Of Stamford Dinners
- Uniform Exchange (see tab below)
The parent-run Uniform Exchange collects new and gently used uniform clothing across all three divisions for the reuse of our King families. Gently used dress code clothing may be dropped in boxes labeled Uniform Exchange in the lobbies of all three divisions. Please note we do not take athletic clothes or any “King” gear.
The Exchange is located in the Parents' Association conference room in the lower school. If the door is locked, the LS front desk has the key and you can let yourself in. Please make sure to lock the door on your way out.
There is no charge to use the Exchange. Please note that blazers and kilts are in high demand and are the first to leave our shelves.
The Exchange is organized by parent volunteers, so please try to keep it neat.
Whenever our inventory exceeds the need of our King families, the Exchange donates it to local charitable organizations with which King shares ongoing relationships.
This committee seeks to support and encourage King’s culture of civility and respect. We are a group of parents interested in deepening our understanding and appreciation of one another and our varied backgrounds and interests. We collaborate with one another as well as the Director of Diversity to provide programs of interest and provide opportunities for open conversation.
The PA Parenting Speaker Series seeks to provide a forum to support one another in our shared endeavor of raising responsible children by presenting relevant speakers and opportunities for discussion. Below is a list of recent speakers and the issues they discussed relevant to raising children in a rapidly changing world.
The School Store sells King apparel, Viking apparel (required physical education uniforms), and spirit items. It is staffed by PA volunteers and is located on the main floor of the LS in the south corridor.
