Class of 1973 alumnus Carter Burwell has been a film score composer for decades, contributing to more than 80 films. Some of his most notable work comes from his collaboration with filmmakers Joel and Ethan Cohen on such movies as The Big Lebowski, No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading and True Grit. He has also scored several films for director Spike Jonze. Most recently, Carter composed the score for the film Carol, work which earned him his first Oscar nomination.
