Food Allergy Policy

The School takes reasonable steps to prevent possible contaminants from entering the school environment. Our food service is an “allergen-aware” food provider. The recipes do not contain nuts and our food service does not purchase items that list nuts in the ingredient statement. It is expected that parents and students join us in this effort by not sending or bringing any nut contaminated food to school in a child’s lunch, snack, or other food. Also, while certain arts and crafts activities may call for nut-contaminated materials, the School makes an effort to substitute nut-free materials for the nut-contaminated materials. However, while we make every effort to be allergy aware, we cannot guarantee that our environment will be free of food allergens.

Magnus Health

Magnus Health can be accessed from the home page of the parent portal. Log into the parent portal, then click the blue “Magnus Health” button in the bottom right of the page. For additional information about Magnus Health, including who to contact with support issues, please visit the Health Services page within the parent portal.

Please note, new families do not have access to Magnus until mid-June. You will receive a communication regarding Magnus in late May.

Bus Service

Free bus service is provided for Stamford residents by the Stamford Board of Education through “First Student” Bus Company. While King does not play a role in the routing, specific pick-up points, or schedules, the Business Office will help facilitate your questions and requests in this regard through the Stamford Board of Education: (203) 977-4248 or (203) 977-4249.

Eligible Stamford families with K-12 children interested in bus service should complete the Application for Transportation that is included in the School’s contract package and return it to the Business Office for processing by June 1. School bus routes are published in the Stamford Advocate in a pullout section sometime between August 15 and August 31. Please contact the LS office to arrange a bus buddy for a young child, if needed.

New this year, King School is coordinating a bus for residents from Riverside/Old Greenwich, CT. Students are picked up at and returned to the Presbyterian Church of Old Greenwich (38 West End Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT).

For residents of Westchester County, NY, specific school districts provide free bus service if you live within a 15-mile radius of King. Students who live beyond this radius may get themselves to a scheduled pick-up point and then be transported to King. Please call the school districts listed below for further information and to apply for transportation. If you decide to have your child(ren) transported by one of these companies, please let the Business Office know so they will have them on record. Division Offices are also informed of all bus riders before the start of school.

  • Bedford Bus Company: (914) 241-6174
