King School is accepting new applications for certain grade levels. Please review the steps below and reach out to our Admission team for more information.

Step 2: Learn More About King

Attend an Open House or a Tuesday Coffee & Conversation to learn about our academic programs, meet our students and Faculty, and tour the beautiful King campus. View our upcoming events on the Visit Campus page or call us at (203) 322-3496, Ext. 350 to register for an event. Individual family tours may be scheduled by contacting the Admission Office directly.


Step 3: Submit An Application

Start your online application today by completing the Application Parts A & B. Applications are due December 15 along with a non-refundable $75 application fee. Supplemental Materials are due January 13; please see steps 5 and 6 for further instruction. Applications completed after January 13 will be considered on a rolling basis as available.

Our primary entry points are PreK, Kindergarten, Grade 5, Grade 6, Grade 9, and Grade 10. However, spaces in other grades may also be available. We invite families to apply for admission to PreK - Grade 11 and encourage you to call the admission office for information specific to your requested grade level.

Step 4: Schedule Interviews and Student Visit

Upon receipt of Application Part A and a non-refundable $75 fee, we will call to schedule the student visit and interview, as well as the parent interview.

PreK and Kindergarten: Parent interviews and admission screening are scheduled first, followed by a Group Class Visit.

Grades 1 - 5: Visits are scheduled Monday through Friday, hours to be specified depending on grade level and day of the week. Parent interviews may be able to be scheduled on the day of the visit or at a separate time.

Grades 6 - 12: Visits are scheduled Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Student interviews will take place during the visit day. Parent interviews may be able to be scheduled on the day of the visit or at a separate time.

Step 5: Schedule Testing

PreKindergarten and Kindergarten: Admission screening is scheduled before the Group Class Visit; please see step 4 for further instruction.

Grades 1 and 2: Applicants take the Children’s Progress assessment during their visit day at King.

Grades 3 and 4: Applicants take the ERB CTP IV offered at King and additional locations. Please download the test registration form, available by September 1.

Grades 5 - 11:

Applicants take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) or the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). Register online at www.iseetest.org or www.ssat.org. Testing locations for Fairfield and Westchester counties (including ISEE testing at King School) are listed on the ISEE and SSAT websites. Use our school codes to ensure that we receive the test scores.

Step 6: Submit Supplemental Application Materials

Complete your online application by submitting the supplemental materials by January 13. Applications completed after January 13 will be considered on a rolling basis as availabilities permit.

International Students

King School welcomes applications from families living outside the United States. Please note that King is not SEVIS certified. Students will need to come to the US with a parent or through an exchange program. A minimum TOEFL score of 91 (Reading: 25, Listening: 21, Speaking: 23 and Writing: 22) is required.
